Confidential Commercial Client Disaster Recovery Facility
Disaster Recovery Facility Fit-Out: £4.5m Commercial Sector Refurbishment
ST1 Group supported the delivery of a £4.5m refurbishment project for a major commercial client in the South of England. The scheme involved converting a former ground floor mail processing centre into a modern office environment designed to support the bank’s disaster recovery strategy.
The existing space was stripped back and fully refurbished to current office standards while the building remained occupied. A large proportion of the project value related to MEP infrastructure, including new communications facilities, UPS backup systems, switchgear and an externally located standby generator.
The facility has been designed with N+1 redundancy, ensuring all critical infrastructure has full backup provision so there is no single point of failure. If the bank’s main headquarters were ever unable to operate, the space would allow essential teams to relocate and continue operations with minimal disruption.
It’s not often a project is delivered with the hope that it will never actually be needed, but this facility plays an important role in the business's wider business continuity planning.
