Royal Albert Dock: Managing Change in a Landmark Development

Built on the historic site of London’s Royal Docks, this ambitious £1.7bn masterplan is transforming the area into a thriving commercial and residential hub. Directly opposite London City Airport, the development spans over 430,000m². This included the construction of five new blocks, extensive public realm works, roads, infrastructure, and the refurbishment of two listed buildings. Additionally, a temporary energy centre was built to support the site’s initial energy demands.

ST1 Group was brought in to oversee and manage the change request process, ensuring all design developments were carefully controlled to minimise unnecessary cost exposure. Our team compiled, evaluated, and presented change requests to the client, ensuring robust change management.
