Transforming the Old War Office: A Landmark Redevelopment

The Old War Office project was a remarkable transformation of a historic government building into a luxury development featuring 85 high-end apartments and a 125-room hotel. This complex redevelopment required a delicate balance between preserving the building’s heritage and incorporating modern structural enhancements.

A key aspect of the project was the construction of three additional basement levels, extending beneath the River Thames—a significant engineering feat. The redevelopment also included the addition of two new levels atop the existing roof, along with the extensive demolition and reconstruction of a large portion of the internal structure. This ambitious undertaking combined meticulous craftsmanship with cutting-edge construction techniques to breathe new life into one of London’s most iconic landmarks.
